Across Pennsylvania, Cyber Charter School students receive less funding than students who attend traditional brick and mortar public schools.
As a result of current state law, cyber charter school students receive nearly 30% less funding than their peers who remain in traditional public schools. The traditional school district keeps the 30% for every student who chooses to enroll in a public, cyber charter school.
Right now, Governor Wolf and the Pennsylvania Legislature are debating if more funding must be cut from cyber charter school students and given to traditional public schools. If Governor Wolf is allowed to cut even more funding from cyber charter school students, Pennsylvania’s public cyber charter schools may be forced to close.
Do not allow the Governor nor Pennsylvania’s Legislature to take away every student’s right to have the best educational opportunities.
Contact your Pennsylvania State House Representative and State Senator today.
Tell them to support educational opportunities for all students and equitable funding for all of Pennsylvania’s public school students.
